Custom flies

Because flies are meant to catch fish, not fishermen.  Hand-tied streamers for the Potomac, Chesapeake, and elsewhere - we pride ourselves on the versatility of our flies to perform in any water you may encounter.

Streamers

Sex panther

Picture
The pattern that started it all, the #SexPanther unfortunately is not made with real bits of panther.

Instead of real bits of panther, we opted to make this deadly baitfish pattern out of an EP sparkle fiber tail or fur tail, rubber legs for body patterning, medium chenile for the body, and weighted clouser eyes.

Sound good to you?

It works 60% of the time, every time.

Sizes and colors

the moss boss

Picture
A simple pattern made of rabbit fur, estaz, and hologram eyes - the Moss Boss mimics small creek baitfish to a T.

Available in sizes 2-8, this fly perfectly mimics the small bait fish in our tidal creeks and tributaries.

Effectively used on bass, trout, and saltwater game.

Rem's hot mess

Picture
A small streamer during our river's shadness madness - the Hot Mess is a simple pattern made of a chennile body and EP fiber tail.

Tied on a circle hook, this morsel is essentially harmless to shad, people, and personal property that would otherwise be snagged with a conventional J-hook.

Very handy when the river is literally, chock full of shad, boat fishermen, and shore fishermen....catch shad, not people.

#eeldeal

Picture
Rem's interpretation of the popular sand eel patterns primarily used in the North East for giant stripers.

The "Eel Deal" is easy to tie and deadly on the man in striped pajamas.

All you need are thread, flash, bucktail, and your choice of eyes.

*Use white thread so you can sharpie in the color combo you'd like.

Clawdawg

Picture
An effective crawdad pattern used in bronze back country like Harper's Ferry, the North Fork of the Shenandoah, or even Rock Creek Park - this pattern gets the job done when targeting claw munching fish.

All you need is rabbit fur for claws, brown estaz for body, neon green dumbbell eyes for weight, and your preference on rubber legs to make this deadly concoction.

Starfox

Picture
An effective minnow pattern that is easy to tie, the #StarFox is a play off the classic wooly bugger...but with some motherf&^#&@ attitude!

Comprised of a marabou tail, crinkle flash, small/medium crystal chenille,, and hologram eyes, this is my go-to pattern. Whether it be on the Potomac, the Shenandoah Valley, or in the salt, I always carry the #StarFox with me.

Got to love the simple things.

Starpanther

Picture
Again, not made with real bits of Panther...but maybe it should be?

The StarPanther is a combination of barred mangum rabbit fur strips, marabou, crinkle flash, flash chenille, and dumbell eyes.

DEADLY WHEN WET....you can quote me on that.

The Dude

Picture
Articulated flies are all the rage.

So naturally, we had to get in on the action. Introducing #TheDude.

Named after the iconic cult movie folk hero, #TheDude is crunchy as hell...but with a refined substance.

All you need is a little imagination....and most of the shit listed below:

Clear Cure Halloween or Dumbell Eyes
Flash Chenille
Magnum rabbit fur strips
Marabou
Crinkle flash
Articulated connectors

Hawg hamster

Picture
Heard of a double-bunny? How about a triple bunny? HOW ABOUT A QUAD BUNNY!?!

Well...that's exactly what we did here.

Using one long strip of mangum rabbit fur for the tail, a strip 1/2 the tail length for the body, and three 1/4" strips for the pectoral fins and belly - the Hawg Hamster feels like a hamster in your hand and looks like a morsel in the water.

Try this pattern out on your favorite trophy trout water.

RUnway Special

Picture
Aptly named for its ability to produce with schoolie stripers at Gravelly Point, the #RunwaySpecial is a blend of rabbit fur, chenille, EP flash fibers, and Clear Cure Halloween eyes.

Made fur the swing...(see what I did there?)

Brookie Chow

Picture
Designed with Hawg Johnson in mind - the #BrookieChow is a great brookie-imitation for territorial, meat craving brown trout.

This combo of mangum purple zonker strips, orange cross cut rabbit fur, and silver/orange rubber legs tied on a #2 long shanked streamer hook makes the big boys pay attention.

fresh meat

Picture
Meant to imitate the hapless, freshly stocked fingerling trout that are dumped by the boatload into your favorite trout water each spring and fall, this articulated beastie is sure to tempt the Hawg.

Growler

Picture
Starfoxx's bearded cousin - this fly crushes big trout, bass, and in-shore saltwater species.

All you need are marabou, small palmering chenille, and clear cure dumbbell eyes.... :)
